About the role
As a Driver Trainee Installer, you will be supported through our 12-month trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer with a C1 driving licence.
Once you're fully trained, you'll have the opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service directly to customers' homes, installing products such as furniture, large electrical appliances, sound systems, and TV sets as part of a 2-person delivery crew.
Key Responsibilities
Once qualified, your day will start at the delivery hub before heading out on route. You'll:
* Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service as your top priority.
* Help load your lorry with the day's deliveries alongside the warehouse team.
* Show respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handle unexpected situations to find the best solutions.
* Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use once installed.
* Stay updated with new products and technologies to perform your role effectively.
* Maintain a safe working environment.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
* UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
* Excellent verbal communication skills, both over the phone and face-to-face.
* Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including delivering large items like sofas, white goods, and furniture.
* A passion for technology and installation.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
* Previous experience in installation and delivery driving.
