Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The client seeks an experienced commercial lawyer focused on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused legal advice to the company's business and corporate services partners globally.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide legal support on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
* Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related matters; support day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal issues.
* Help manage compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and network policies across jurisdictions.
* Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal advice on their activities.
* Develop and implement governance, policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services and solutions, including governance processes and specialized legal issues related to technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
* Manage external legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Provide practical, business-oriented advice while managing risk and compliance obligations.
* Make presentations and publish articles on key legal topics.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
* UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
* Strong legal skills with the ability to lead complex legal and regulatory issues.
* Strategic risk management skills, with the ability to identify issues and suggest mitigation strategies.
* Expertise in negotiating, drafting, reviewing transactions, and advising on laws across multiple jurisdictions.
* Ability to work independently and manage complex cases while collaborating with teams.
* Balance the needs of a growing global business with legal and compliance risk management.
* Self-motivated, thriving in a fast-paced environment with global stakeholders.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
