InvoiceCloud is seeking a high-impact sales leader to join as an Area Vice President of Sales, focused on upmarket expansion within the Government Utilities vertical. This role is ideal for a front-line manager who thrives on building pipeline, closing complex deals, and leading a team of high-performing Enterprise Account Executives.
As AVP of Sales, you will be responsible for achieving ambitious growth targets while actively coaching your team, inspecting deals, and driving outbound sales execution. This is a quota-carrying, front-line leadership position at a high-growth, private equity-backed SaaS company at a pivotal scale-up stage.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of field Account Executives focused on acquiring net-new business in strategic and enterprise accounts
* Drive new client bookings to exceed 90%+ of team quota through outbound execution and strong pipeline development
* Partner with SDRs and Marketing to ensure robust top-of-funnel activity and pipeline health
* Participate in customer meetings to support reps in managing multi-threaded, complex deal cycles
* Maintain high standards of forecast accuracy (95%+ on rep commits and 80%+ forecast-to-close accuracy)
* Enforce process discipline across CRM and sales engagement platforms including Salesforce, Gong, and Mindtickle
* Provide continuous coaching through call reviews, pipeline strategy, and 1:1 development
* Collaborate across teams including Marketing, RevOps, Customer Success, and Product to drive strategic alignment
* Stay current on market trends in utilities, payments, and regulatory environments to support customer engagement and positioning
Qualifications
* Current or recent experience as a front-line Enterprise Sales leader (e.g., AVP, VP, RVP)
* Proven experience directly selling and closing complex enterprise SaaS deals
* Experience managing Enterprise AEs in a high-growth SaaS environment
* Background in Private Equity-backed organizations, preferably during post-acquisition or scale-up phase
* Industry experience in GovTech, FinTech, utilities, payments, or other regulated verticals preferred
* Familiar with sales methodologies and committed to process rigor and documentation
* Track record of driving outbound sales motions; not reliant on inbound or partner channels
* Highly motivated, fast-paced, and comfortable working in a scale-up/startup environment
* Proven ability to coach and develop sales talent into future leadership roles
* Strong forecasting and operational management skills; data-driven and execution-oriented

* AVP/VP from PE-backed SaaS firms in government, utilities, or financial services
* Leaders from outbound-driven sales cultures with deep knowledge of pipeline generation
