Your Role
Join Stockport’s Leaving Care Service and play a key role in supporting care experienced young people.
As a Senior Intensive Support Worker, you’ll lead by example by providing trauma informed, relationship based support while also offering practice guidance and case supervision to Intensive Support Workers and Progression Coaches.
You’ll hold a small complex caseload, offering flexible crisis and developmental support, and work closely with Staying Close to ensure young people feel safe, empowered and connected. You’ll coordinate multi‑agency plans, champion reflective practice, and help young people build the skills, stability and confidence they need for adulthood.
About You
We are looking for someone who has Stockport Family values: putting people first, working collaboratively, showing ambition and creativity, and treating everyone with respect. You should have experience supporting care experienced young people in a trauma informed, relational way, along with the ability to provide supervision, guidance and emotionally safe spaces. Strong multi‑agency skills, excellent communication, and confidence in crisis are essential. You will bring knowledge of care leaver legislation, reflective and resilient practice, Social Work Qualification or NVQ Level 5/ equivalent qualification in a relevant field, and a full driving licence.
