About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Director, Strategic Investment Partnering to help shape how Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets (LBCM) and the Markets Platform invest. The role supports delivery of a clear growth strategy through 2030 and our ambition to become the UK's leading bank for Debt, Cash and Risk.
You'll work at the intersection of strategy, investment management, finance and delivery. Collaborating with senior leaders across Product, Coverage, Platform, Finance and Investment Management, you'll translate CIB’s North Star into a coherent, prioritised and value‑focused investment portfolio.
This position sits within the Strategic Cost & Investment team, which leads the Divisional‑level Investment Portfolio for the Corporate & Institutional Bank (CIB).
Key Accountabilities
* Strategic investment portfolio ownership – shape and evolve the LBCM & Markets Platform investment portfolio, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities and managing portfolio‑level risks, interdependencies and constraints.
* Senior partnering and influence – partner with senior decision‑makers across Business, Platform, Finance and Investment Management, providing insight, constructive challenge and financial perspective to support prioritisation and investment decisions.
* Investment case development and standards – drive the development of high‑quality investment cases, ensuring costs, benefits, risks and assumptions are robust, transparent and aligned to agreed planning and investment standards.
* Future capability and operating model considerations – identify future‑state capability, resourcing and operating model needs to support LBCM’s growth ambitions.
* Portfolio governance and oversight – support effective portfolio‑level governance by managing interdependencies, risks and constraints, and enable executive forums with clear recommendations.
Qualifications & Experience
* Strategic, commercial and financial judgement – at least 5 years of demonstrable application of strategic and commercial judgement in complex environments.
* Strong financial competence – ability to turn complex information into clear options and recommendations for senior leaders.
* Experience in CIB, LBCM or Markets environments – at least 5 years working within or closely alongside Corporate & Institutional Banking, LBCM or Markets businesses.
* Senior partnering and influence – proven ability to build credible relationships at senior level, navigate conflicting priorities and influence across a matrix organisation.
* Decision‑making and accountability in uncertainty – track record of making and standing behind investment or strategic decisions under uncertain conditions.
* Governance, delivery and control – strong experience in portfolio governance, planning, tracking and reporting, managing risks, issues and dependencies through appropriate governance mechanisms.
* Broad change and analytical capability – experience in operating model build, process transformation and digital or technology change.
