This newly created position will be integral to enhancing technical infrastructure and ensuring best-in-class security. You will work cross-functionally with senior stakeholders and Technology Services teams to implement procedural and technical aspects of Security Operations, including liaison with the MSSP/SOC. The team is undertaking multiple large technology transformation projects across the business, moving from on-premises towards cloud-based solutions.
We are looking for someone with a solid background in AWS Cloud infrastructure and Windows Server, capable of leading maintenance of legacy environments while modernising and optimising cloud workloads.
Responsibilities
* Implement, optimize, and maintain the AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure robust performance, high availability, and comprehensive support.
* Lead the maintenance of the charity's legacy Windows Server environments.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to drive security, governance, and operational excellence.
* Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and design CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
* Monitor, log, and observe infrastructure with tools such as CloudWatch and AWS Config; participate in incident response and BAU escalations.
* Configure and manage networking, storage, and security components in AWS (VPCs, subnets, route tables, Transit Gateways, VPNs, IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, AWS Organizations).
* Assist in data lifecycle policy design and cost-efficient storage usage; support cloud-native transitions for legacy workloads where appropriate.
* Engage with the Cyber Security team to embed compliance, monitoring, and governance controls.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in cloud infrastructure with strong AWS expertise.
* Experience configuring and managing EC2 instances, storage solutions, and highly available architectures across multiple AWS regions and availability zones.
* Strong troubleshooting skills for BAU escalations and a detail-oriented approach to security (IAM, encryption, access control, firewalls).
* Experience with IaC (Terraform) and CI/CD tooling; familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability (CloudWatch, AWS Config).
* Understanding of FCA rules and ITIL is preferential but not essential.
* Legacy Windows Server administration and a willingness to maintain legacy environments where required.
* Strong problem solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
