Level 3 Pre-School Practitioner

RESPONSIBLE TO: Pre-School Manager
JOB PURPOSE: To work as an effective member of an early years childcare team delivering a flexible, high quality childcare service that meets the needs of the children and their families. To provide a safe, stimulating environment for the children, with creative and appropriate play and learning opportunities.
MAIN DUTIES: 1. To work in partnership with the setting management/ staff and trainees as part of a highly motivated and professional team. 2. To be part of a team of early years practitioners providing safe and stimulating childcare, under the direction of the Setting Manager. 3. To set up and clear away after activities making sure that materials and equipment are maintained and stored properly. 4. To attend regular staff meetings and training days at the beginning of each term. To keep up to date with current childcare issues. 5. To attend in – service training courses and meetings as required. 6. To promote good practice in a professional and inclusive manner. 7. To be fully involved in all activities associated with the childcare provision. 8. To understand, work within and promote the settings policies and procedures. 9. To share any child protection concerns immediately with the Designated Person. To adhere to the confidentiality policy of the setting.. To have an understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and the Statutory Welfare Requirements and the ability to meet them.. To assist with planning and providing appropriate play and learning opportunities for the children at the setting. To act as a Key Person to a small group of children as directed by the setting manager and to ensure their needs are reflected in the planning of routines and activities.. To attend supervisions and appraisal.. To attend open evenings with parents when appropriate.. To liaise with parents to support the development and care of their children.. Assist and undertake observation/assessment and record keeping as directed by the Setting Manager.. Promote the settings Equal Opportunities policy.. To have due regard to the provisions of Health & Safety at Work legislation, as detailed in the Health and Safety policy.. To perform any other duties as deemed necessary by the manager/committee.

Minimum experience Level for this job: Minimum 2 years
Details of any training needed for this job: Paediatric first aid certificate and enhanced DBS on the update service
Details of any qualifications needed for this job: Childcare qualifications CACHE level 3 and above or equivalent ideally
Hours of work: hrs- hrs per week
Days required: 3- 5 days per week
Driving required: ideally as public transport is not reliable

Salary – up to £.gross per hour/ up to £, gross per annum(if hrs is worked at DM level)
