The Opportunity - SEN Class Teacher
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Class Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Ware. This is a highly rewarding role supporting pupils within a structured, nurturing environment, including those with complex needs such as SEMH, PMLD, and SLD.
You'll play a key role in the education and training sector, helping pupils build trust, develop communication and self-regulation skills, and re-engage positively with learning.
As a SEN Class Teacher You'll Be Doing:
Deliver tailored, nurture-based lessons to small groups.
Support pupils with SEMH needs alongside PMLD and SLD requirements
Adapt teaching to meet a range of sensory, physical, and communication needs
Use alternative communication approaches (e.g. PECS, Makaton, AAC) where appropriate
Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Plan personalised learning in line with EHCP outcomes
Work closely with SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral teams
Create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
What We're Looking For
QTS or QTLS (desirable) or strong SEN/SEMH experience
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and/or complex needs (PMLD, SLD)
Confidence adapting teaching for diverse learning and communication needs
A calm, consistent, and resilient approach
Strong relationship-building skills
Commitment to inclusive education and ongoing development
Ability to commute to Ware
