HGV Technician – Night Shift (Monday to Friday, 45 Hours) – Biggleswade Location: Biggleswade Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, Night Shift Hours: 45 hours per week About the Role We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Technician to join our team in Biggleswade. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a reputable organization, maintaining and repairing a fleet of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) in a professional and efficient manner. As part of the night shift team, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our vehicles are roadworthy and ready for operation, adhering to the highest safety and maintenance standards. This role offers a consistent Monday-to-Friday night schedule, giving you weekends free. Key Responsibilities Conduct routine servicing, inspections, and repairs on HGVs, trailers, and associated equipment. Perform advanced diagnostics to identify mechanical and electrical faults. Repair and replace defective parts, ensuring vehicles meet compliance standards. Carry out MOT preparation and checks to ensure all vehicles are roadworthy. Maintain accurate records of all work completed, using the company’s internal systems. Work independently to manage the night shift workload while ensuring deadlines are met. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards in the workplace.Requirements Proven experience as an HGV Technician or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic. NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues. A valid HGV driving license (preferred but not essential). Familiarity with MOT standards and DVSA requirements.
