Job Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Passive Fire Assurance Manager to join our team on a large-scale project in Somerset. In this key role, you will oversee the compliance with fire strategy, legislation, and building regulations throughout the construction process. You will be the go-to expert for passive fire-related issues, ensuring that all fire safety measures are adhered to and maintained on-site. You will play an essential role in delivering high-quality and compliant fire safety strategies across all stages of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with fire safety legislation, building regulations, and the fire strategy during the construction phase.
* Provide expert guidance to the project team on passive fire-related queries, resolving issues efficiently and ensuring compliance.
* Lead site visits, inspections, and audits, including off-site evaluations when necessary.
* Raise awareness of non-compliance and promote best practices related to passive fire safety on-site.
* Maintain detailed records of compliance evidence, including installation and testing records.
* Support and manage fire-stopping and builders' works packages throughout live projects.
* Troubleshoot fire-related incidents and arrange bespoke fire testing when needed.
* Conduct regular audits to ensure all fire safety requirements and industry best practices are being followed.
* Collaborate with all project phases, from design through to handover, ensuring compliance at each stage.
* Drive continuous improvement in fire safety practices through effective leadership and communication with all stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Proven technical expertise in fire safety, particularly in structural, fabric (e.g., dry lining), façade, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) interfaces.
* Extensive experience on-site across large construction projects.
* Strong understanding of fire safety regulations, including Regulation B, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, and the Building Safety Act.
* Ability to lead fire assurance strategies and maintain thorough audit trails and records.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with a collaborative approach to working with diverse teams.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
* Strong problem-solving skills and resilience when faced with challenges.
* Proficiency in using key business tools and IT systems.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Level 2 IFE Qualification (Institute of Fire Engineers)
* Drylining and/or Protective Coating Qualification (preferred)
* CPD (Continuing Professional Development) in MEP fire safety elements (e.g., Busbars and Dampers)
* CPD in fire compartmentation elements, particularly in facades
