Overview
Wellington College is looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated Cleaners to join the Domestic Services Department. The department ensures that all areas are cleaned and maintained safely and to the highest standard, supporting the Wellington College and Wellington Health & Fitness Club operations.
Salary and Benefits
Base pay range: Salary: £26,000 based upon a Full time equivalent. Salary will be pro-rated for part time. Staff benefits are based on a full-time role and will be available / pro-rated as applicable. Role and Department
The Domestic Services Department is essential to the smooth running of Wellington College and the Wellington Health & Fitness Club. The department comprises Cleaning, Housekeeping, House Matron, Laundry and Logistical Services staff members and strives to achieve excellence in service provision.
Key responsibilities
* Follow the Cleaning Specification for each designated area of Wellington College and the Wellington Health & Fitness club, including cleaning, washing, sweeping, vacuuming, rubbish disposal, refilling dispensers, dusting and damp dusting of offices, sports areas, changing rooms and toilets, using appropriate powered equipment and chemicals.
* Move items of furniture and/or equipment as necessary to facilitate cleaning.
* Comply with all College policies and statutory regulations relating to health & safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH. Be aware of any specific hazards in the workplace.
* Ensure keys are issued and returned within the policy and procedure of the Domestic Services Department.
* Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
* Be flexible to the needs of the College and amend hours of work as required.
* Cover weekend cleaning requirements on a rota of not less than 1 weekend in 4 all year round.
* Undertake any other duties as reasonably required.
* Duties may vary between term and closure periods.
Requirements
* All applicants must have a valid right to work in the UK and must be able to produce supporting documents.
* Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
* The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School may ask applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including spent convictions unless protected under DBS rules) to assess suitability to work with children.
