HR Advisor – Apetito UK

Fixed term contract for 9‑12 months. Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week.

Location: Trowbridge (some travel to Portbury may be required. Driver's licence and own transport are essential.)


Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues across the business.
* Champion best practice and timely adherence to company policy to ensure the interests of the business and employees are prioritised.
* Act as a true partner with managers across the business regarding employee relations, policies, and procedures.
* Balance supporting, advising, coaching, and where appropriate, influencing and challenging managers to ensure fair and consistent procedures and policies are being followed in line with employment law and apetito's policies.
* Take a proactive role in ER cases, including administration and attending meetings such as hearings, grievances, investigations and appeals.
* Provide expert HR generalist advice in a fast‑paced environment.
* Support and advise on policies, casework and people projects such as TUPE transfers, redundancy consultation and organisational change.
* Contribute to and deliver training on key people policies, e.g. absence management, discipline and grievance.
* Review and update resources for managers, ensuring guidance notes and template letters are up to date.
* Collaborate with HR team members on people projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Work with the HR Managers to produce contracts, offer letters, induction documents and other correspondence for new and existing staff.
* Support the Director of HR and HR Managers with project work as required.
* Attend meetings in relation to case matters and provide timely advice.
* Collate data for monitoring and measuring HR key performance indicators and distribute as required.
* Compile and run reports on the HR system, Zellis, to provide key people statistics to the HR Managers and wider business.
* Contribute to reviews of HR practice, processes, policies and procedures to continuously improve and meet business needs.
* Maintain and support the administration and communications of staff benefits programmes such as Perks and the Employee Assistance Programme.


Essential Qualifications and Experience

* Experience in an HR Advisor role.
* Significant experience of dealing with employee relations casework and advising managers on HR policy, procedures and best practice (absence management, disciplinary, grievance and performance management).
* Experience using HR databases and case management systems.
* Ability to plan and prioritise workload and cases.
* Confident using Microsoft Office applications, in particular Word and Excel.
* GCSEs or equivalent Grade C in Mathematics & English.
* Up‑to‑date employment law knowledge.
* CIPD qualified – part or full.
* Full UK driving licence and access to own transport.


Desirable Qualifications and Experience

* Developing HR processes, procedures and policies.
* Experience of coaching managers.
* Advising on restructuring and redundancy situations.
* Experience in a multi‑site environment.
* Understanding of TUPE legislation and dealing with TUPE transfers.

* Flexible in respect of working hours and travel/work locations as some UK travel may be required.
