Location: Leeds/Field Based
Salary: Up to £50,000 depending on experience
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Machine Tool Service Engineer to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of CNC and conventional machine tools across our customer base. This is a field-based role requiring a proactive individual who can work independently while delivering a high standard of technical support and customer service. The successful candidate will play a key role in minimising downtime, ensuring equipment performance, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Responsibilities include:
* Install, commission, and test new machine tools at customer sites
* Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical, electrical, and control system repairs
* Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance
* Provide technical support and guidance to customers on machine operation
* Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate documentation
* Work closely with internal teams to ensure efficient service delivery
* Always adhere to health and safety standards
Skills & Experience:
* Strong fault-finding ability across mechanical and electrical systems
* Knowledge of CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain)
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
* Good communication and customer-facing skills
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
* Proven experience servicing CNC or conventional machine tools
* Previous field service experience is highly desirable
* Experience with PLC systems or programming is advantageous
* Full UK driving licence required
* Willingness to travel and stay overnight when necessary
