Sercco: Alexander Stadium – GMAC (Gymnastics & Martial Arts Centre) Permanent, Full Time Up to £37,000 per annum Corporate Benefits Package We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Gymnastics Manager to lead the full gymnastics programme at Alexander Stadium – GMAC, overseeing everything from recreational classes through to competitive squads. This is a newly created high-impact leadership role with responsibility for programme quality, coach development, compliance, safeguarding and commercial growth. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the gymnastics pathway, ensuring a safe, inclusive and aspirational environment for gymnasts, coaches and families, while positioning the club as the provider of choice in the region. You’ll work closely with the General Manager, the City of Birmingham Gymnastics Club committee, and British Gymnastics, combining operational excellence with strong people leadership. What You’ll Be Doing Leading and developing a high-quality gymnastics programme from recreation to competitive squads, driving growth, retention and performance. Managing, mentoring and supporting the gymnastics coaching team, including head coaches, ensuring effective deployment, development and succession planning. Overseeing the competition programme, balancing performance pathways with commercial sustainability, and ensuring all safeguarding and risk requirements are met. Working in partnership with the club committee, sitting as Gymnastics Manager with responsibility for compliance and club standards. Ensuring full compliance with British Gymnastics and Serco Leisure policies, including safeguarding, DBS, qualifications, CPDs and First Aid. Acting as Designated Safeguarding Officer for the gymnastics programme. Using data and commercial reports to identify opportunities for growth, improvement and income generation. Supporting budget planning and contributing to the ongoing commercial success of the programme. Leading workforce development through structured training plans, coach meetings, observations and CPDs. Supporting marketing, communication and promotion of the programme, working with national marketing and digital teams. Ensuring websites, customer information and front-of-house knowledge are kept up to date. Supporting delivery by coaching classes when required to avoid cancellations and maintain programme continuity. Building strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and partners. What We’re Looking For Proven experience managing or working within a gymnastics club environment. Demonstrable success developing gymnastics programmes from recreational to competitive levels. Strong leadership experience, including coach management, mentoring and change management. A track record of improving quality, compliance, retention and growth. British Gymnastics Level 2 Coach qualification (minimum, in at least one discipline). British Gymnastics Level 3 Coach qualification (or working towards) – strongly preferred. Strong understanding of safeguarding, compliance and British Gymnastics requirements. Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder-management skills. Confident using data, reports and systems (Outlook, Excel, CRM). A passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences and inclusive programmes.
