The Role
We're seeking a recent graduate to join our business development team as a Business Development Associate. This is an exceptional opportunity to enter the defense electronics industry, working closely with our senior Business Development Manager to learn the market, build relationships, and develop specialised expertise in RF systems and electronic warfare.

Key Responsibilities
Market Research & Analysis
* Conduct detailed research on potential customers, competitors, and market trends
* Analyse defense procurement opportunities and tender requirements
* Maintain competitive intelligence databases and market mapping
* Prepare market entry strategies for new geographical regions
Technical Support & Documentation
* Assist in preparing technical proposals and capability statements
* Develop product documentation and specification sheets
* Support technical presentations and demonstrations
* Collaborate with engineering teams to understand product capabilities
Lead Generation & Qualification
* Identify and qualify potential customers through various channels
* Research defense contractors, system integrators, and military procurement offices
* Build and maintain prospect databases using CRM systems
* Follow up on trade show leads and inquiries
Event & Exhibition Support
* Coordinate trade show participation and logistics
* Assist with booth setup, demonstrations, and visitor engagement
* Manage post-event follow-up activities
* Research and recommend relevant industry events
Client Relationship Support
* Support senior manager in client meetings and presentations
* Handle routine client communications and inquiries
* Assist with contract administration and order processing
* Maintain client relationship records and communication logs
Business Development Activities
* Gradually take ownership of smaller accounts and prospects
* Participate in client visits and industry networking events
* Support proposal writing and tender responses
* Assist with partnership development activities
Essential Requirements
Education & Background
* Degree in Electronics Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering, Physics, or related technical field
* Strong academic record from a recognised UK university
* Understanding of RF principles, electronic systems, or telecommunications
Personal Qualities
* Professional demeanour suitable for military/defense environment
* Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities
Technical Skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
* Ability to understand technical specifications and engineering documentation
* Research and analytical skills
* CRM systems experience (training provided)
