Compliance & Sustainability Controller Location: Poole, Dorset Hours: Full-time 39 hours per week (Monday – Thursday 8am – 5pm & Friday 8am – 4pm) Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (D.O.E) Compliance & Sustainability Controller – Drive Compliance & Environmental Targets Are you an organised, detail-oriented professional with a passion for compliance and environmental best practice? We are recruiting on behalf of a prominent organisation seeking a dedicated Compliance and Sustainability Controller to join their Compliance department. This is a critical role that blends meticulous ISO audit management with proactive support for the company’s ambitious environmental and sustainability objectives. The Core Objectives: Your Impact: You will be the key support in managing the organisation's internal quality and environmental commitments, ensuring the business stays ahead of regulatory requirements and meets customer demands. * Proactively contribute to maintaining compliance with all relevant UK, EU, and global market legislation. * Lead and manage the entire internal audit process for ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environmental). * Drive continuous improvement through administrative support, KPI management, and active engagement in sustainability progress. * Support the Head of Compliance & Sustainability in achieving key organisational environmental targets. Key Responsibilities: What You'll Do: Your role is dual-focused, spanning internal systems management and external regulatory adherence: * Quality & Compliance Management * Directly manage and take responsibility for ISO 9001 & 14001 internal audit compliance. * Support company obligations related to product and environmental legislation, including initiatives like EcoVadis. * Update and maintain technical information across internal databases. * Engage with external third parties, factories, and inspectors to meet Extended Producer Responsibility requirements for packaging. * Environmental Reporting & Sustainability * Co-ordinate, analyse, and report on relevant environmental data, ensuring alignment with the organisation's Scope 1, 2 and 3 Carbon emissions. * Actively support mandatory auditing requirements such as SECR & ESOS. * Work collaboratively to follow-up and monitor factory-level carbon reduction targets. * Proactively provide accurate customer environmental data upon request. * Commit to continuous learning by attending relevant external training, qualification opportunities, and seminars. Candidate Profile: What You'll Bring: We are looking for a highly capable individual ready to take ownership of these responsibilities. Essential Experience & Skills * Proven experience with ISO 9001 / 14001 or demonstrable prior internal auditing experience. * A strong interest in commercial environmental practices and procedures. * Proficiency in Outlook and Excel. * Confidence in communicating with external customers and stakeholders. * Excellent oral and written communication skills and a keen attention to detail. * A strong willingness to learn and adapt to an ever-changing regulatory landscape. Desirable (But Not Essential) * An Environmental or Sustainability qualification. * A technical understanding of luminaires (lighting products).
