Welcome to Redstone Hall School, a vibrant new educational establishment in Ipswich! We cater to up to 30 pupils aged 5 to 18 with complex needs, providing a safe and supportive environment where every child is valued and empowered. Your Role
As our SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students. Your responsibilities will include:
* Determining the strategic development of SEN policy and provision within the school.
* Designing and delivering targeted interventions to bridge attainment gaps.
* Assessing and monitoring pupil progress in line with their EHCPs.
* Conducting annual reviews and acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
* Leading multi-agency meetings and supporting Early Help initiatives.
* Liaising with the Headteacher, Tutors, class teachers, and parents to support individual learning plans.
* Coordinating day-to-day SEN operations and maintaining accurate records.
* Providing support to colleagues in developing effective teaching programs and behavior management strategies.
* Overseeing annual reviews and ensuring appropriate professionals are involved in pupils' development.
* Communicating regularly with parents and carers to foster strong partnerships.
* Promoting pupil inclusion in the school community and facilitating smooth transitions.
* Covering classes during teacher absences, with a teaching commitment of 50/50, preferably in Science.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* Qualified Teacher Status.
* National Award for SEN Co-ordination, or a willingness to complete the new NPQ for SENCOs.
* Experience in school self-evaluation and development planning.
* A background in teaching within an autism/SEMH school.
* Experience in delivering training and leading INSET.
* A solid understanding of the SEND Code of Conduct.
* A commitment to professional development and a passion for learning.
