Role Overview:
The International Controller will be responsible for providing financial oversight across the International Region, including wholly owned markets, third parties, and the global travel retail business. This role ensures strong internal controls, compliance with IFRS, and delivers value-added financial support to drive informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain the internal control framework across the region.
* Manage end-to-end group and statutory closing processes.
* Ensure compliance with IFRS and company accounting policies.
* Lead balance sheet planning and perform variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
* Review commercial agreements to assess accounting impacts.
* Provide accounting support for key projects such as M&A, ERP implementations, and new route-to-market expansions.
* Oversee risk and control matrix maintenance.
* Manage relationships with internal and external auditors.
* Conduct detailed financial reviews of all reporting units within the region.
* Serve as the regional technical accounting expert, liaising with corporate teams and key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
* 10 to 15 years of professional experience.
* Chartered Accountant/CPA/ACA or Big-4 audit background preferred.
* Proven experience with internal controls, ideally within a SOX environment.
* Deep knowledge of IFRS and financial accounting.
* Strong leadership skills and experience partnering with business stakeholders.
* Strategic mindset with an action-oriented approach.
* Fluent in English; Spanish is not required but considered a plus.
