We are looking for a Registered Nurse first level (Adult) to join our surgical ward team at Lorn & Islands Hospital in Oban.
Ward A is a 14 bedded in patient ward, receiving both elective and emergency surgical patients 24 hours a day and a day bed unit which is operational Monday to Friday for people attending for both endoscopy and surgical procedures.
It can be busy at times but most of the time the pace of the ward will give you an opportunity to know patients and the team very well.
This is a great opportunity to learn the wide range of the nursing skills and gain experience of working in rural hospital in a beautiful and bustling seaside town of Oban.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to assess, plan and implement care for surgical patients. Applicants should also have good communication and interpersonal skills and work well within a team.
It is desirable applicants have previous experience working in a general surgical ward or acute setting but newly qualified RNs welcome as induction and surgical training will be provided.
The successful applicant will work within the ward and the day bed unit also rotating between both day and night duty and will be flexible to the needs of the service.
