ABOUT THE ROLE
Multus is seeking a dynamic and experienced
Research Scientist,
with experience in suspension cell culture for media development.
You will work with a team of scientists to develop high-performance cell culture media using high-throughput robotic automation, AI and large datasets. We work in small, agile teams so you will be able to shape how we operate and what we achieve as a company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Plan, design, and execute experiments independently to support project goals, with a focus on media development, suspension cell culture, and cell-based assay optimisation.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams, including automation engineers and software developers, to adapt manual lab protocols into high-throughput automated workflows.
* Identify opportunities for process optimisation and propose actionable improvements based on experimental evidence and operational needs.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant literature, emerging technologies, and competitor landscape. Summarise and share key insights to inform experimental design and innovation.
* Ensure accurate and consistent documentation of experimental data, protocols, and project progress in accordance with internal SOPs and regulatory standards.
* Uphold rigorous scientific standards, ensuring experimental work is reproducible, reliable, and ethically conducted.
* Contribute to company-wide initiatives beyond project work when needed, including knowledge sharing, infrastructure setup, and supporting junior team members.
* Actively engage in training to expand technical skillsets relevant to company operations, particularly in automation, media development, and suspension culture platforms and new technologies.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Strong academic track record in a relevant field (biotechnology, immunology, bioengineering, etc.) with a Masters degree or equivalent experience
* 2+ years in relevant industry experience
* Strong foundational skills in mammalian cell culture, with direct hands-on experience in different suspension cell models/types (e.g. CHO, HEK, JURKAT, NKs, MKs, T cells).
* Proven ability to thrive in dynamic environments, working independently and adapting swiftly to shifting priorities and ambiguous challenges.
* Very strong attention to detail, organization, documentation, and multitasking abilities.
* Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative team player.
* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and proactively resolve them.
The following skills and experiences would help you stand out even more:
* Hands-on experience with laboratory automation platforms (e.g., liquid handling systems, automated cell passaging, or assay development using robotics).
* Hands on experience in the following techniques: q-PCR, ELISA, antibody titration, transfection, viral infectivity assays.
Please note that you will be expected to work on-site in our labs in White City.
