Payroll & Finance Officer based in central Norwich. 30 hours per week, flexible. The role: You will be responsible for the payroll function, ensuring a smooth, compliant, end‑to‑end payroll operation. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the tasks will involve the following: Running the monthly payroll with accuracy and calm efficiency. Managing starters, leavers, changes, overtime, allowances, and deductions. Handling statutory and occupational payments. Reconciling payroll, issuing payslips, and resolving staff queries. Ensuring payroll meets HMRC, employment law, and GDPR standards. Submitting RTI returns and completing year‑end tasks. Staying ahead of payroll legislation and best practice. Administering multiple pension schemes, including contributions, enrolments, opt‑ins/outs, and member queries. Supporting pension reconciliations and scheme compliance. Managing staff benefits, healthcare schemes, and salary sacrifice arrangements.
