Important Note
This is a physically demanding role requiring visits to various construction sites and inspection of buildings throughout the build process, including working frequently at height. Applicants must consider this before applying.

* Comprehensive training: classroom training at our Milton Keynes Academy, hands-on experience on house-building sites with mentors, and funded training towards becoming a “Registered Building Inspector.”

* Career Progression: Clear paths from Trainee, Assistant, Building Inspector, Senior to Principal Inspector and beyond, with milestones and multiple promotion routes.

What We’re Looking For

* Excellent people and communication skills, verbal and written.
* Some hands-on construction experience in residential house building.
* Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Keen learner to obtain good job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
* Strong interest in house building, learning industry-related improvements, building standards and safety.
* A construction-related qualification or experience is an advantage, but not necessary.
* IT literate and able to learn new software packages.
* Ability to work as part of a team with a “Can do” attitude.
* Full UK Driving Licence.

NHBC Building Safety Regulator Framework

NHBC has a dedicated professional team to support staff who require registration with the Building Safety Regulator as a “Registered Building Inspector.” This includes training and development to undertake third-party accredited assessment schemes. NHBC provides financial funding for completion of the assessment schemes and registration with the Building Safety Regulator.
