Are you a detail-oriented investigator with a passion for justice and public service? Join our Internal Audit Investigation Service and help protect public funds across Lancashire through expert financial investigation and legal precision.
As a Financial Investigator, you will:
1. Lead complex investigations into fraud and misconduct, supporting the Council’s commitment to ethical conduct and financial integrity.
2. Apply for Crown Court production orders and secure search and seizure warrants to obtain critical evidence.
3. Work closely with legal teams, senior investigators, and external partners to ensure legal procedures are followed with professionalism.
4. Contribute to high-profile cases that impact communities and leadership across Lancashire.
5. Support the development of fraud prevention frameworks and help the Council meet national standards and legislative requirements.
What we're looking for:
6. Experience in financial investigation related to fraud.
7. Understanding of production and seizure order requirements.
8. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with legal professionals and stakeholders.
9. Ability to manage complex caseloads independently and use technology effectively.
10. A relevant counter fraud or financial investigation qualification—or willingness to work towards one.
