Job Purpose
To sort, segregate, and remove contaminants from various waste streams for recycling, operate static/mobile plant, and assist in site operations using best practices.
About The Role
Job Purpose: To sort, segregate, and remove contaminants from waste streams, operate plant, and assist in site operations.
Tasks
* Conduct daily pre-use checks and report defects.
* Move bales from bale wrapper to storage.
* Load/unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
* Maintain a clean and secure work area.
* Clean and maintain plant and equipment.
* Operate static plant (bale wrapper/compactors).
* Sort and bale single stream materials.
* Sort materials on picking line and next to walking floor.
* Identify and communicate contaminated loads to management.
* Manually load cardboard into pits.
* Ensure quality of materials produced.
Other Duties
* Perform safety checks (Safetech, Emergency Stops).
* Follow safe systems of work and risk assessments.
* Maintain housekeeping in designated areas.
* Familiarize with policies on waste handling.
* Assist in controlling and coordinating site safety and efficiency.
* Secure the building upon leaving.
* Attend training and toolbox talks.
* Assist other departments as needed.
* Undertake additional duties as required.
Requirements
* FLT operator must have completed skid steer training and hold the necessary license.
* Ability to work independently and in teams.
* Flexible attitude.
* Familiarity with material handling.
* Use of radio frequency equipment (desirable).
* Manual handling training (desirable).
