Ward Manager – Acute Ward
We are seeking a committed Ward Manager for our Acute Mental Health ward in Springfield, Essex. This independent hospital specializes in the treatment and management of adults and adolescents with acute mental health issues.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee nursing staff rota and ensure e-rostering standards; available for on‑call rota.
* Act as a visible role model, mentor, and leader; foster a culture of learning, development, inquiry, and professionalism.
* Ensure patients receive the highest standard of care.
* Lead recruitment and retention of ward and hospital staff.
* Complete clinical investigations, complaints, and HR investigations accurately and promptly.
* Apply legislative frameworks (Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberties) in line with company policy and national requirements.
* Manage medicines in the ward; facilitate competency‑based assessments for all registered nurses.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered as an RMN Nurse with a current active NMC Pin.
* Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity within a relevant care setting.
* Appropriate registration or experience required for the ward.
* Willingness to complete further clinical, managerial, and leadership training and development.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: £47,300 – £53,700 per annum (permanent full‑time, 37.5 hours a week).
