HR Advisor £39,274 pro rata (pay award pending) – Grade 7 Leeds / Hybrid Part time / Permanent – 18 to 24 hours per week Closing date – 7 September at 23:55 Following the upcoming retirement of a valued team member, we have a rare opportunity for a new HR Advisor to join our People and Organisational Development (OD) team. This is a great opportunity to join the organisation at a pivotal time, building on well-established foundations, and playing an active role in shaping, and delivering our evolving people agenda. As a HR Advisor, you will support and advise employees on a wide range of HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, policy compliance, and the implementation of HR initiatives. You will also contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes, maintain up to date knowledge of employment legislation, and play a key role in promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture. As we transition to a delivery-focused model that emphasises project-based working and management, this role would be best suited to a HR Advisor with strong generalist experience, ideally complemented by a background in managing or supporting HR projects. The Role Reporting into the HR Business Partner, your key responsibilities will include: · Providing a high quality, professional HR Advisory service to the Combined Authority, taking responsibility for an individual case load across the full remit of HR work whilst ensuring managers are aware of and follow the Combined Authority’s policies and procedures, providing guidance and support/advice as required · Continuously improving processes and practices to ensure a streamlined, efficient and effective HR service. · Liaising closely with the HR Business Partners on the operational HR delivery across a directorate/s covering the full range of HR functions. · Be responsible for ensuring HR policies and practices are up to date in terms of employment law and best practice, making recommendations for changes and negotiating those with our recognised trade unions Please review the Role Profile on our website for more information about the responsibilities. About You You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience: · Be educated to degree level in a business field or have significant practical experience. · Experience of delivering a high-quality professional HR advisory service to both managers and employees. · Experience of managing a caseload of complex HR issues, giving appropriate HR advice on key issues such as disciplinary, conduct, performance management, grievances and employee health issues. · Desirable: CIPD Associate level qualification. · Desirable: Project management skills to support a project-based approach within the People and OD team.
