Job Title: Biopharmaceutics and Dissolution Scientist
Role
Biowaived is a contract research organisation focused on delivering tailored biopharmaceutics and dissolution work packages to support drug product development and help our clients to develop optimal formulations.
As a Biopharmaceutics and Dissolution Scientist, your role will focus on the generation of quality analytical data to support the evaluation of drug product performance using compendial and novel in-vitro dissolution tools. The role requires for the candidate to be able to work individually and as part of a team to achieve the desired project outcomes.
Responsibilities
o Conducting laboratory testing; including but not limited to:
· Compendial dissolution testing (USP I, USPII, USPIII, USPIV)
· Biorelevant dissolution testing
· Solubility and physicochemical property (logP, pKa, CMC) assessments
· Intrinsic dissolution rate determination
· Analytical testing (e.g. HPLC/UPLC)
o Generation of quality analytical data, recording data in electronic laboratory notebook, summarising and interpreting results and drawing relevant conclusions
o Report and present scientific and technical results internally and externally
o Ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines/quality standards (e.g. SOPs, GLP)
o Comply with Health and Safety requirements of the role including COSHH
o Maintain laboratory in a safe and tidy manner
Knowledge and Experience
o A degree in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent
o Experience in pharmaceutical development – beneficial but not required
o Experience working in an analytical laboratory – beneficial but not required
