Senior Transport Operations Manager Location: East Midlands Gateway Contract Type: Full time, permanent Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday Salary: £60,000 plus car / car allowance, 33 days holiday, pension, bonus, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits scheme About the Job You will lead Transport contractual delivery, evolution, and development for the contracts within your area, ensuring the effective operation of the Transport function, and further develop integrated transport solutions to deliver a premium and cost effective service. You will produce, agree, and manage the budget, accounting for any variances, taking a proactive approach in order to fully engage any new initiatives at the depot, ensuring the integration of projects is successful in line with business needs. You will deliver operational and customer service excellence through innovation, continuous improvement, effective process management and effective leadership. As part of your key responsibilities youll: Provide effective leadership and direction to the Transport Department Proactively seek optimisation without affecting service Actively promote and take responsibility for embedding a culture of employee engagement within your own teams and their direct reports Be accountable for setting operational objectives for your team in accordance with business plan and targets Drive quality of performance and shape the management team to deliver effective people management in line with policy and employment law regulations Be responsible for compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental and quality standards Integrate and control new cross dock clients where applicable Be responsible for the interface between every area of the operation to ensure efficiency and effectiveness Manage a group of approved 3rd party hauliers on national or international journey Propose, agree, and implement service standard agreements for products with customers in conjunction with other areas of the business Support Unipart in regard to reducing its carbon footprint, for example recycling initiatives Be the site lead for in the Interface with all major customers including implementation meetings, customer reviews and other ad hoc meetings as required Be named and responsible for ensuring the Uniparts Operator Licence is maintained efficiently and accurately at all times, and carry out contingency planning to avoid exposure to the Operator Licences Be accountable for the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives Be accountable for the proactive management of new legislation Be accountable for performance against key KPI measures Lead the Retailer Interface in regard to Key supplier management for quality and cost Lead project success through the design implementation and delivery of all breakthrough projects and responsibilities in accordance with case merits Accountable for embedding The Unipart Way at all levels About You Wed love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think youd be able to perform well in this role!
