The Role – We are seeking to employ a dedicated, experienced and motivated Senior Deputy Manger to manage the day to day running of one our smaller settings in Caldicot. The successful candidate will lead and inspire our fabulous staff team and manage emails and enquiries as well as the day to day running of the setting. You will be based at Crossway Town Nursery, our smalller 19 place setting, catering for babies and toddlers under the age of 2, and you will work closely with our area manager and with our sister settings managers to develop practice and provision across all 3 of our settings in Caldicot.
You will be partly supernumerary and work in ratio, and you will be expected to perform administrative tasks for 1-2 days per week.
Career Progression and Training – You will receive update training for all mandatory courses and you will also have the opportunity to participate in further training as part of our commitment to your ongoing CPD.
Main duties and responsibilities
* To lead the day to day running of the setting and ensure a high standard of learning, development and care at all times.
* To ensure the nursery environment is welcoming, well-presented, organised and clean at all times.
* To ensure health and safety is maintained at all times and that the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others.
* To develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child's development.
* To inspire, motivate and direct the staff team, and manage the placement of staff during the day.
* To be responsible for any additional tasks delegated by the Area Manager or Director.
* To ensure the Wales NMS and regulations are adhered to at all times and the nursery is compliant in all areas.
* To work closely with the Monmouthshire Flying Start Team, and Monmouthshire Early Years Team.
Main Duties
* Overall day to day management of the nursery with the support of the area manager and director
* To be responsible for the efficient running of the nursery and overall delivery of a high quality service
* To ensure that the nursery provides a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times
* To ensure the nursery meets CIW requirements and regulations at all times
* To undertake and assign designated officer roles such as Children's Safeguarding Lead
* To work with other professionals in the local area for the benefit of children and families
* To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the nursery aims and objectives

Qualifications
* Proven experience in childcare and nursery management, particularly with toddlers
* Strong background in early childhood education
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated leadership and management abilities
* Valid driver's license and proficiency in English
* Ability to create a nurturing and safe environment for children
* Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education - Essential
* Level 4/5 Early Years Care and Education - Desirable
