We are looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition professional to lead a service that ensures we attract, select and appoint high quality and capable talent aligned to our current and future needs.
You will partner closely with hiring managers to provide expert guidance across the recruitment lifecycle, build capability and ensure a positive and inclusive candidate experience, while also leading on recruitment governance, supplier partnership, systems and commercial values.
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation to work within our York Office at least 2 days per week.
Key Areas Of Responsibility
Recruitment strategy and delivery
* Lead the Society’s Talent Acquisition service that supports organisational priorities, including those that showcase employer brand and promote inclusive, equitable attraction and selection.
* Proactively source talent using a range of methods, including direct sourcing leveraging the Society’s brand and targeted outreach.
* Utilise the benchmarking framework to shape the recruitment of individual vacancies, ensuring that campaigns and recommendations are tailored and effective.
Advice, capability, and partnership
* Provide expert, hands‑on advice to hiring managers across sourcing strategies, assessment methods, and appointment decisions.
* Build organisational capability by working with and coaching hiring managers and key stakeholders on effective recruitment practices.
Governance, insight, and improvement
* Analyse recruitment metrics and labour market trends to drive continuous improvement in quality, speed, and cost of hire.
* Own and continuously improve recruitment frameworks, processes, and policies, ensuring compliance with employment law and best practice.
Suppliers, systems, and candidate experience
* Manage recruitment suppliers, systems and spend on associated projects to ensure commercial value and quality performance.
* Ensure candidates experience a consistent, professional, and positive journey from attraction to appointment.
* Lead application sifting and screening, supporting hiring managers through interview and selection activity where appropriate.
Essential
What you’ll bring to the role
* Proven end‑to‑end recruitment experience across attraction, sourcing, selection, and onboarding.
* Confident use of diverse sourcing methods, including proactive talent pipeline generation and social media.
* Proven ability to build effective relationships and influence hiring managers and stakeholders.
* Sound knowledge of recruitment best practice and related employment legislation, including the ability to own policy and curate and deliver training materials.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Proactive, adaptable, and solutions‑focused approach.
* Ability to create engaging recruitment content, including adverts and attraction messaging.
* Able to track and interpret recruitment metrics and market trends to support data‑driven decisions.
* Experience of working with applicant tracking system(s).
Desirable
* Experience of using technology, including AI, to support recruitment.
