The Heart and Chest Department
Forming part of the Medical Directorate at Southend Hospital providing an Outpatient Service and Ward Based Care has an exciting opportunity within the Cardiology department to join our friendly, supportive team.
Responsibilities
* Provide a comprehensive administrative support service to the Cardiology service.
* Support with efficient and accurate bookings into appropriate clinics.
* Support our test tracking processes.
* Maintain effective communication with clinical and non-clinical staff both within the Trust.
* Provide support to ensure full utilisation of all Cardiology clinics.
* Provide a high standard of front-line customer care and a lead point of contact for patients regarding complaints and queries always displaying empathy and diplomacy.
* Including management of the cardiology referrals within the Cardiology service.
Additional responsibilities
* Booking appointments.
* Communicating with patients.
* Undertake any other administrative activities appropriate to this post as directed by the managerial staff.
* To work closely with Cardiology supervisors/managers.
* Cross covering colleagues in times of annual leave or sickness within the team.
* Process new referrals internally and externally via ERS, printing and distributing in a timely manner.
* ECG opinions.
* Liaising with secretarial team/reception team/diagnostic team.
