Offer description

Role: Early Career Teacher
Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Flexible temporary roles (full-time, part-time, day-to-day, short-term and long-term)
Salary: £32,916-£45,351 per annum (depending on experience and/or qualifications)

About the role

If you are qualifying this September and weighing up your next step, this Early Career Teacher opportunity is a great way to ease into the profession while keeping your options open. At Heart of Supply, we are excited to be advertising Early Career Teacher roles for those who want to gain experience, build confidence and get to know a variety of schools across Lincolnshire.

As an Early Career Teacher working on supply, you can choose what suits you best. This includes day to day work, short term cover or longer-term placements across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. You will be welcomed into different classrooms, supported with clear lesson plans and asked to keep learning moving in a positive and settled way when the usual class teacher is away.

This role is ideal for an Early Career Teacher who enjoys variety and wants to learn quickly. One day you might be helping Reception pupils with phonics, the next supporting a KS2 class to stay focused and on track. Each placement adds to your experience and helps you figure out what kind of school and setting feels right for you.

We are looking for Early Career Teachers who are friendly, flexible and ready to get involved. You will feel comfortable meeting new pupils and staff, managing behaviour calmly and bringing energy and encouragement into the classroom. With Heart of Supply, you can gain valuable experience, enjoy a better work life balance and make a real difference along the way.

About the schools

At Heart of Supply, we work with a wide range of welcoming primary schools across Lincolnshire. This includes both local authority and academy schools, each with a shared focus on creating a positive, well-run day for pupils and staff. The schools we partner with are organised, well-resourced and genuinely appreciate having teachers who can slot in smoothly and feel comfortable being part of the team.

Because we spend time getting to know each school properly, we can match teachers to settings that suit their experience, preferences and working style. Some schools need cover for a single day, while others are looking for a familiar face over a longer period. Either way, the priority is always to keep learning consistent and classrooms settled.

For schools, this means having reliable teachers they know they can count on. For teachers, it means gaining varied, hands-on experience in supportive environments and building strong relationships with pupils and staff across the county.

What you will need:

* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and recent experience in a UK primary setting

* A nurturing, flexible teaching approach with the ability to connect quickly with pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2

* Confident classroom presence with strong behaviour management rooted in positive reinforcement

* The ability to follow pre-set work while bringing your own creativity and energy to the classroom

* Clear communication, a proactive attitude, and the ability to build rapport with pupils and staff alike

* A minimum of 6 weeks’ teaching experience in the UK

We’re fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All applicants will undergo thorough vetting, including enhanced DBS (with children’s barred list check and Update Service registration), references, and online checks as part of our compliance process.

What we offer you:

* Competitive weekly PAYE pay

* Roles tailored to your lifestyle - day-to-day or longer term

* Access to exclusive opportunities in great local schools

* A friendly, experienced consultant who listens

* Free CPD and ongoing professional development

* A simple ‘Refer a Friend’ scheme

* A warm, supportive agency that genuinely cares about you and your journey
