Head of MFL (Part-Time, Permanent – 0.6 FTE) Full-time may be considered for the right candidate Start Date: September 2026 Salary: £32,916 – £51,047 (Actual) TLR 2B Contract: Permanent, Part-Time Closing Date: 12th April 2026 Interview Date: w/c 24th April 2026 Positions Available: 1 About the Role We are recruiting on behalf of a new and rapidly growing 11–16 secondary school, currently in the early stages of its development. This is a rare opportunity to join a school at a formative point and play a central role in shaping its curriculum and academic identity. The school is seeking an exceptional and forward‑thinking Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to lead the creation and development of a high‑quality, knowledge‑rich MFL curriculum. The post is offered on a part‑time basis, with flexibility for full‑time consideration for the right candidate. The Role: Head of MFL As Head of MFL, you will be responsible for building the department from the ground up—designing curriculum, shaping pedagogy, developing resources, and establishing high expectations for language learning. This role would suit an experienced middle leader seeking flexibility, or an ambitious teacher ready to step into departmental leadership within a supportive and ambitious environment. As an early subject leader, you will have significant professional autonomy and the opportunity to leave a lasting impact as the school grows.
