The SEN Service is seeking to recruit a Family Support Worker at SO1 grade. The post will be in the first instance fixed term until 31st March 2026. The post forms part of the Change Partnership Programme and will be part of our Local Inclusion Support Offer. This is a new concept for SEN and we are seeking a family support worker that will be able to work with our families and support them to embed skills started in school at home. They will be able to support families with some parenting skills where there are additional needs that are impacting on the family. This may be signposting to Early Help or support with housing needs.
The purpose of the role is to ensure that the family are able to understand and engage in the education system and that the skills learned in school are embedded at home. You should be able to work with a range of professionals from education, health and social care.
We are seeking a committed professional who must have education and SEN experience and be able to communicate effectively with families. You should have wider knowledge of education, health and social care support available to families and ensure that families are receiving the right support. We anticipate that you will be educated to degree level, have significant experience of the education, health, and social care system.
