Our client is an independent firm of Chartered Certified Accountants based in central Birmingham that provide a wide range of tailored accountancy services, from accounts preparation, corporate and personal tax, VAT returns, business start-ups and many more. They are looking to recruit for a Payroll Assistant and Payroll Officer to join their team. This would be ideal for a candidate who is experienced with payroll or a candidate looking to start their career in payroll.
Payroll Assistant / Officer Key Responsibilities:
* To assist the payroll manager and payroll team in all payroll tasks.
* Tracking hours worked for all employees.
* Entering payroll data into digital systems to keep all payroll files up to date.
* Processing and dispensing employee payslips and P60s
Payroll Assistant / Officer Specific Skills:
* Good communication skills
* Effective interpersonal/management skills
* Above average critical thinking ability
* Sound knowledge of accounting basics and pensions desirable
* Strong Microsoft Office skills - Excel, Word and Outlook skills are essential.
* Ideally experienced in using Sage Payroll
* Experience of HR administration is desirable although not essential.
Education/Qualifications:
* Good standard of formal education (A level preferred)
* Above average literacy and numeracy
* CIPD or equivalent HR qualification desirable
* AAT or Part II CIMA/CACA/CA desirable
