Job summary
We are currently looking to appoint a Clinical Administration Officer (CAO) to work in the Surgical Division, 30 hours per week, on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The successful candidate must be customer-focused, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and great attention to detail for accurate data recording are essential.
Requirements include GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent), excellent IT skills, and relevant office/secretarial experience.
Knowledge of medical terminology, customer care, and NHS experience are desirable.
Please note this role does not qualify for a Home Office sponsorship certificate; applications requiring sponsorship will not be considered.
Main duties of the job
The primary focus is to provide administrative support to Consultants, medical staff, and senior team members by operating relevant IT applications, meeting targets, and maintaining confidentiality.
Responsibilities include audio typing, handling patient queries, booking appointments, and executing complex instructions from clinical and senior staff. Please see the attached Job Description for detailed duties.
