We are passionate about providing the best clinical care to our patients and you would be expected to contribute to the innovative practice on the ward and to on-going service development as per local, Trust and National requirements.

We are a 15 bedded female acute admissions ward where you will gain experience from working with service users with the most acute and often complex mental health presentations. You are guaranteed to gain experience in shaping the service and implement new policies. The management team would provide you with robust support in this role as well as for progression in career development.

Working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team you will have excellent communication skills and team working abilities. A key role of the Clinical Charge Nurse is to lead by example and be a role model for the nursing team. The post holder will have a role in all aspects of service development and improvement. In return our service will provide you with high levels of supervision and support during your working career with us and provide you with personal development plans to help you develop in this role.

You will develop confidence in assessing risk on a formal and informal basis and be able to balance this effectively with acting in the least restrictive way, fostering a safe yet therapeutic service.

It is essential you have an understanding of the challenges that face nurses caring for individuals with mental health difficulties today and be able to demonstrate resilience and empathy. Most important to us is that you have a commitment and passion to want to be part of an excellent service.
