Final Assembly Operative

A globally recognised aerospace manufacturer in Denham is looking for a mechanically biased Assembly Operative to join its Final Assembly team. You'll be carrying out precision mechanical assembly of components and sub-assemblies used in aviation safety systems for fighter jets, working to detailed technical drawings and exacting quality standards.
What you'll be doing:
Mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies using engineering drawings, technical specifications, and kits of parts
Using hand tools, torque equipment, and associated tooling
Carrying out self-inspection, stage inspection, and final certification of assembled components
Identifying and applying correct part numbers, drawing issues, and surface finishes
Recording work in progress and component traceability using shop floor systems
Adhering to quality, H&S, FOD, and ESD procedures
Supporting 5S and continuous improvement activities
Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and tool control
What you need:
Experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
Confident use of basic hand tools
Good manual dexterity with a methodical, accurate approach to work
Basic IT skills
SAP or similar manufacturing system experience desirable
Awareness of FOD and ESD controls desirable
This role is mechanically biased - candidates with a primarily electrical background are unlikely to be suitable.

Days: 08:00–17:00 Mon–Thu / 08:00–12:00 Fri
