Job Description
Our Spalding site has an exciting opportunity for a Transport Support Operator to join our friendly team on a full-time permanent basis.
As the Transport Support Operator, you will be responsible for the performance of the transport function in delivering an efficient, compliant, and service-driven operation.
Shift: 4 on 4 off, 7pm-7am.
Salary: £26,640-£31,889 per annum, depending on experience.
Key Duties of a Transport Support Operator:
* Despatching outbound drivers, ensuring correct paperwork is issued, and all instructions regarding collections and deliveries are clear and understood.
* Monitoring vehicle progress at all stages of its journey using appropriate systems and communication methods.
* Escalating any delays or issues potentially affecting performance appropriately.
* Utilising customer or retailer systems to make, amend, or update bookings as necessary.
* Assisting in resolving operational issues by liaising with drivers, customers, delivery points, or other stakeholders.
* Collating and presenting KPIs or other operational data to demonstrate performance and identify improvement opportunities.
* Liaising with internal departments such as Warehouse, Finance, Fleet, and KAMs to optimise performance.
* Supporting other operational departments to ensure compliance, including vehicle downloads, condition checks, incident investigations, and breakdown handling.
Qualifications
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
* Positive and adaptable attitude.
* Excellent communication skills for delivering accurate information.
* Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
* Effective prioritisation skills to meet deadlines.
* Good computer literacy, particularly in MS Office applications such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
