The Role
We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to join Bells Motor Group in Northampton and head up our established Service team at our dual franchise Volvo and Kia dealership. With previous experience in Aftersales which will ensure you lead the team to provide a high-quality service for our customers.
You will be hands on manager that has a sound understanding of maximising profitability and commercial opportunities to help drive the Service department forward.

Responsibilities
* Develop Service Plan and Budget to achieve financial and business targets.
* Agree plans with Group Aftersales Manager
* Inform Service Staff of objectives and ensure maximum commitment and motivation.
* Utilise monthly management accounts system to monitor and control department productivity and profitability.
* Devise and agree Motivation Plans for service staff to ensure achievement of service targets. Regularly review such plans to ensure they are achieving the desired effect whilst maintaining the best possible customer service.
* Ensure that the department offers the highest level of service to customers
* Deal with customer complaints personally where necessary utilising the goodwill budget as appropriate. Refer to Group General Manager as necessary.
* Ensure the department provides the opening hours, staff cover and level of Emergency Service as required.
* Monitor operation of warranty systems and ensure that Volvo Car UK and Kia UK procedures are followed.
* Carry out staff appraisals. Recommend and initiate personnel action for all staff including promotions, transfers, training, discharge, discipline, recruitment, selection and full participation in Professional Programmes.
* Maintain high levels of housekeeping. Ensure equipment is maintained as appropriate. To be responsible for the security of the plant, equipment and vehicles in the Service Department.
* Prepare Personal Development Plans for both self and staff to ensure continual development and progress.
* Ensure that the Service Department is a safe and healthy environment in which to work; ensure that safe working practices are applied at all times in accordance with Health and Safety and COSHH requirements.
* Establish and maintain administrative procedures and policies to assist the smooth handling of all business including making full use of computerised systems available from Volvo Car UK and Kia UK.
* Conduct aftersales Campaigns and Promotions in accordance with Dealership requirements.
* Ensure that the forecourt is kept clear of service vehicles, that service vehicles are parked in an orderly manner and accessible to customers upon completion of work. Regularly review and propose improvements as necessary.
* Ensure service loan and hire cars are maintained in an A1 condition.
* Participate in Volvo and Kia programmes and their continuous development activity.
* Support and promote the Dealership and handling both Volvo and Kia philosophy of customer care.
* Maintain relationships and work closely with the Directors and all members of the management team in order to facilitate the achievement of Dealership goals.
* Build and maintain relationships with external agencies: Tool Suppliers, Equipment Maintainers etc. in order to get the best terms and services.
* Maintain a good relationship with Volvo Car UK and Kia UK to ensure the franchise is not put at risk.
