Activity Support Organiser – Dementia Day Service
Full-Time 37hpw - from £12.34 per hour
Boyn Grove Dementia Day Service specialises in a range of therapeutic activities for people with physical disabilities and long-term health issues, such as dementia, memory loss, Parkinson's and strokes. We aim to improve and maintain the quality of life for older people by offering the chance to socialise in our easy to navigate environment, which has high contrast floors and walls, reminiscence areas and tactile wall panels for stimulation and different sensory experiences.
We are recruiting for an Activity Support Organiser to work full-time – the service operates Monday to Friday only, from 8.30am to 4.30pm
As an Activity Support Organiser, you will provide high quality, person-centred support and help deliver meaningful activities catered to the interests of our customers. You'll engage and motivate our customers to take part in our exciting range of on-site activities and events in the community, and support with life skills, as well as emotional and physical wellbeing.
The role will also involve care responsibilities, which may include administering medication, supporting with personal care and assisting with mobility.
Our current range of activities include arts and crafts, games, quizzes, music sessions, Cognitive Stimulation Therapy and gardening, as well as outings to local attractions.
Experience in the care sector would be beneficial but is not necessary – what we are looking for is personality, creativity and some interesting hobbies that will engage our customers. Full training is provided, including classroom-based learning, shadowing experienced staff and online sessions.
A full UK driving licence is required for this role as you will be driving our service vehicles to take customers for activities in the community.
