Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maths and English Lecturer to join a well-established college in East London on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to support and inspire learners in achieving their functional skills and GCSE qualifications in Maths and English.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality teaching in Maths and English across a range of levels, including Functional Skills and GCSE
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet curriculum and awarding body requirements
* Support learners in developing core numeracy and literacy skills for academic and career progression
* Assess, mark, and provide constructive and timely feedback on student work
* Monitor and track learner progress, implementing interventions where necessary
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, achievement, and progression
* Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives
* Support learners in progressing to further education, apprenticeships, or employment
Requirements
* Relevant degree in Mathematics, English, or a related subject
* Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
* Experience teaching Maths and/or English in a Further Education or similar setting
* Strong understanding of GCSE and Functional Skills curriculum
* Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
* Ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
