Overview
Deep Origin Ltd UK is a new start-up company focused on advancing technology related to trust and security. We are building an innovative proof of concept for real world application and seeking grant funding to help us complete the journey. We have won Innovate UK grants and a grant from the Web 3 Foundation and are exploring opportunities with ESA, IUK or AI Safety spaces.
Role Description
We are flexible for someone with the right skills to help us secure grant funding. This can be a contractor role or fixed term employed contract for one year. You will cover all parts of the grant application process and discussions with funders where required. You will take the lead in identifying potential funding opportunities, understanding the requirements, filling out all aspects of the application and managing stakeholders where relevant. You will need to familiarize yourself with our technology and how it could be applicable to grant funding organisations.
* Identify suitable grant applications for the company.
* Manage the end to end process from identification, preparation, submission, to reviewing unsuccessful or successful applications to improve future applications.
* Liaise with stakeholders to discuss broad principles of our technology to assess grant opportunities.
* Represent the company with excellent communication at all points.
* Prepare PowerPoint slides and diagrams to display our offering to potential grantors.
* Prepare relevant supporting documentation such as risk registers, 5 year financial forecasts, and other documents for grants.
What we are offering
* An initial one year contract (employed or contractor) with the possibility to extend based on success and available grants.
* Commission on each successful grant won.
* An evidence-based approach to the number of hours based on assessment of the research and application process.
* A contracted rate of £30 per hour on a self-employed basis or through your own company, or employed with us for one year. If employed, the £30 per hour includes holiday pay.
* 1 month notice period for ending the service.
* Hybrid working with majority time at home or in a home office; occasional office visits in Oxford. Expenses covered if engaged as a contractor. Location-based terms apply if employed.
Experience
* Full understanding of the grant funding industry and how to secure grants.
* Proven experience in all parts of the grant writing process including research, diagrams, budgets, risks, and application content.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Ability to work independently and remotely.
* Ability to show progress of work in a clear and understandable way.
* Record of successfully winning grants that you have written.
