Site & Enforcement Officer Directorate: Housing & Assets Section: Community Safety Salary: Grade 10 About the Role We are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated Site & Enforcement Officer to lead the management and development of Oak Lane Traveller Site and the Traveller Transit Site. This is a key role within Housing Services, with responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operation of both sites & driving forward service improvements. You will play a vital role in improving outcomes for residents, strengthening engagement, and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, inclusive and well-managed service. Key Responsibilities Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of Oak Lane Traveller Site and the Traveller Transit Site when occupied. Improve resident engagement, consultation and communication. Develop and review policies, procedures and licence agreements in line with legislation and good housing management practice. Manage planned investment, asset management, repairs and maintenance arrangements. Carry out option appraisals for future management models and make recommendations on long-term viability. Manage and support staff, including line management of the Tenancy Sustainment Officer. Respond to complaints, enquiries and correspondence from residents, Councillors and MPs. Work closely with internal teams and external partners, including during emergency situations. Promote equality, diversity, safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance with council policies at all times. About You We are looking for someone who can demonstrate: Proven experience of leading and managing projects and services. Experience of working with Gypsy and Traveller communities or other hard-to-reach groups. A sound understanding and appreciation of Gypsy and Traveller culture. Experience of managing staff and contributing to service improvement. Strong knowledge of good practice in housing service delivery and the wider housing context. Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. The ability to produce clear reports and communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences. Strong planning, organisational and IT skills. A commitment to equality, diversity, anti-discriminatory practice and customer satisfaction. You will be educated to A-level standard or equivalent and committed to ongoing professional development. Additional Information This post is subject to DBS clearance. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle with business use insurance is required. The role requires flexibility, including occasional work outside normal office hours.
