We have an exciting opportunity for an Estates and Facilities Operative to join the team on a full time, fixed term basis. In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £24,834 - £33,285 per annum

About the role:
As our Estates and Facilities Operative, no two days will be the same! You'll be the friendly face behind the scenes who keeps everything running smoothly — from opening up the site each morning to ensuring buildings are safe, secure, and ready for the day ahead. Whether you're responding to alarms, fixing a leaky tap, setting up for an event, or keeping the grounds looking their best, you'll play a hands-on role in creating a safe, welcoming environment for everyone on site.

Responsibilities as our Estates and Facilities Operative will include:
Security & Site Management
* Open and secure buildings, including pedestrian and vehicle access points, in accordance with site procedures.
* Operate intruder alarm systems, ensuring they are set and unset in line with site opening and closing times.
Fire Safety & Fire Panel Response
* Monitor fire alarm systems and respond promptly to activations and panel alerts.
* Investigate fire alarm activations in line with established procedures, where it is safe to do so.
Maintenance & Repairs
* Undertake light reactive maintenance, basic building repairs, and general fabric works (e.g., painting, minor plumbing, and joinery).
* Complete planned preventative and statutory maintenance tasks.
* Identify, report, and escalate defects, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
Grounds & External Areas
* Maintain external areas including pathways, car parks, gardens, and green spaces.
* Carry out litter picking, leaf clearance, and snow/ice treatment as required.
Health & Safety
* Work in full compliance with health and safety legislation and site policies.
* Ensure the safe use and storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
General Duties
* Prepare and set up rooms for meetings, events, and operational activities.
* Safely move furniture and equipment as required.
About You
* As our Estates and Facilities Operative, you will ideally have:
* A good general standard of education.
* Basic IT skills, including the ability to log jobs, complete reports, and use email systems.
* Previous experience in an estates, caretaking, facilities, or maintenance role.
* A sound understanding of health and safety requirements.
* Strong organisational, communication, and teamwork skills.
