As a PR Account Executive, you will be heavily involved in brand liaisons, press release writing and feature placements, media relationship building and driving client coverage across a broad range of B2B media.
Overview of the Role
An Account Executive (AE) provides vital support for the wider team, carrying out the day-to-day execution and administration tasks for our portfolio of industry-leading clients. They support the PR team in completing tasks to ensure client satisfaction and well-structured accounts. The AE should have excellent communication skills, be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking. They are involved in brand liaisons, press releases, media relationships, and coverage generation.
To succeed, an AE should be enthusiastic, driven, and comfortable communicating via phone, research, reporting, or drafting press releases. They should have a passion for PR, especially within retail, F&B, and property sectors. Typically, an AE stays in this role for 1-2 years, depending on experience.
Role and responsibilities:
Client Relationships
* Establish and nurture relationships with clients through regular contact, meetings, and support activities.
* Manage daily client work to meet desired outcomes.
* Analyze and circulate media coverage reports.
* Attend and promote client events.
* Prepare reports, agendas, and notes for meetings.
* Manage clients’ LinkedIn accounts where applicable.
Media relationships
* Develop media lists and build relationships with media contacts across platforms.
* Identify media opportunities and pitch stories daily.
* Monitor media for coverage and opportunities.
* Research and write press releases, stories, and case studies.
* Stay informed about B2B sector media outlets.
* Support media campaigns with research and brainstorming.
* Report media coverage results to teams and clients.
Team support
* Implement PR activities as part of the team strategy.
* Handle administrative tasks such as tracking coverage, maintaining contact databases, and updating press materials.
* Lead client reporting efforts.
Internal
* Contribute to a positive team culture.
* Promote company values and brand.
* Support branding, social media, and website updates.
* Assist in new business development and pitches when needed.
