Purpose of the Job

We are looking for motivated, customer-focused people who want to join our team as a Senior Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician. The focus of the Senior Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician role is to ensure safety regulations and policies are adhered to, to ensure preventative maintenance is conducted on time to a high standard and to provide high levels of equipment availability through continuous improvement. Shift Pattern: this role includes working in non-traditional shift patterns, which may include nights and weekends.


Responsibilities

* Role model health & safety best practices and monitor those around them to ensure they follow the example they set.
* Work in a hands-on manner and demonstrate SME (Subject Matter Expert) levels of knowledge on all MHE (Material Handling Equipment) in the building.
* Coach and mentor the technicians on shift.
* Support the line manager and supervise the shift in their absence.
* Provide high levels of equipment availability to internal customers by means of troubleshooting and prioritizing.
* Support continuous improvement of systems in a standard manner across the EU network.
* Develop and maintain a good working relationship across all levels in the organization.
* Understand OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and equipment performance metrics.
* Management of contractors.
* Demonstrate best practice on using equipment safely and monitor teams to ensure everyone follows the correct processes.
* Keep track of equipment performance through visual checks, condition-based monitoring, and preventative maintenance tasks and schedule, including additional servicing when required.
* Supervise technicians on shift to support their development and act as the first point of contact for Reliability Maintenance Engineers.
* Solve issues in equipment to reduce downtime for operations so they can process packages as quickly as possible.
* Support in finding ways to continually improve systems and standardise processes across the EU network.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

* Engineering Degree in UK Higher National Diploma (HND), Higher National Certificate (HNC), BTEC National Diploma and Certificate (OND/D), NVQ III/IV/V Engineering Manufacture (or similar), Ieng, CEng, ILM L3+ or a fully accredited apprenticeship with relevant follow on qualifications.
* Experience working as a technical lead.
* Experience in electrical or mechanical engineering.
* Experience maintaining material handling equipment and integrated systems.
* Experience in written and spoken English and an ability to compose grammatically correct, concise and accurate written responses.
* Preferred Qualifications
* Experience of multi-contractor management.
* Knowledge of systems controls.
* Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasks.
* A degree preferably in a technical discipline or operations.
