Working in Manufacturing at JLR, you'll be the hands-on expert who brings innovation to life. You'll collaborate with a team of expert technicians and problem-solvers and use cutting-edge tools, facilities, and processes engineered together to build era-defining vehicles that people across the world know and love. Your expertise will directly impact the shaping of modern luxury. Together, let’s create the exceptional.
WHAT TO EXPECT
As Import Export Operations (IEO) operational complexity continues to grow, this role exists to work with our operational colleagues and the wider business (e.g., Programmes, Procurement, Finance, Strategy) to understand and plan the correct future global operating landscape, footprint, models, organization structures, etc. This role will also work closely with Logistics Development and Freight Development teams within Supply Chain to ensure a cohesive approach to Supply Chain’s forward plans. Importantly, this role will not be responsible for project delivery but will design the scope of projects based on the formulated direction before handing over to IEO project delivery colleagues.
* Work with internal IEO colleagues to understand current operations' pain points and improvement opportunities.
* Work with external JLR colleagues to understand (and contribute to) projects and studies that could impact IEO.
* Ideate and create forward plans that address identified gaps/pain points or that unlock functionality for further growth opportunities for IEO.
* Maintain overview of 1-5 year project horizon, working with operational and delivery teams to prioritize and ensure conditions for success.
* Represent IEO in JLR Programme and other forums as required to understand requirements whilst effectively presenting IEO’s current positions and forward plans.
* Employ effective stakeholder management and other project management tools to ensure effective communication and buy-in from a wide range of stakeholders.
* Manage a small team (2 people) responsible for ensuring continued progress towards team goals.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you'll need to have to succeed, including:
* Strong understanding of international supply chain disciplines and processes, including systems and 3PL interactions.
* Ability to blend creative, innovative thinking with credible operational experience to develop a forward vision and influence stakeholders at every level.
* Ability to manage a complex and evolving internal and external stakeholder group from ambiguity to an agreed plan, collaborating, building trust, and influencing stakeholders to drive consensus and deliver the best results.
* Experience working closely with related/adjacent organizations and processes (particularly Programmes, Procurement, Finance, IT).
* Excellent ability to analyze large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data to generate business cases, and confidently present those cases in senior forums to garner support.
* Understanding of project management discipline and the requirements for success.
