We’re more than just an energy company; we’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We’re energisers, one team of 21,000 colleagues energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels. We are committed to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, passion, and potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently—we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.
About your team:
At British Gas, our mission is to sell it and mend it.
We’re the household heroes powering 1 in 3 homes in the UK, but supplying energy is just part of what we do. We’re making UK homes greener and more energy efficient, together with our friends at Hive. By using their smart technology like thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels, and EV chargers, we’re making it cheaper and easier to reduce your home’s carbon footprint. With our Peak Save programme, we actively reward better energy use.
About your role:
We need Service & Repair engineers to join our team of experienced Gas Engineers to ensure our customers receive the help they need, when they need it. You will play a pivotal role in British Gas's Service Promise of same-day fixes for our customers.
Base salary is £43,733 plus up to £6,000 London weighting allowance (dependent on area), with uncapped OTE—£60,000 (including LWA) is a realistic expectation through our field reward scheme.
Being there for our customers is our priority. Whether attending an annual service visit or a complex breakdown, you will represent British Gas in the customer’s home. You will have support from managers, mentors, and engineer colleagues. Experience working across various boilers, heating systems, and manufacturers is essential, as some jobs can be challenging.
Here's what we’re looking for:
* A dedicated focus on providing outstanding customer experience on every visit
* Current ACS qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1 & HTR1) or equivalent in plumbing or heating
* At least 3 years of qualified experience in fault finding and diagnosis
* Electrical knowledge, including wiring and fault finding on S-plan, Y-plan, and combination systems and boilers
Why should you apply?
We’re not perfect, but we’re a people-focused organization. Our priority is supporting the diverse realities our people face. Life is about more than work, which is why we offer flexible total rewards to support you physically, emotionally, and financially.
