Are you a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher looking to make a real difference? GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Intervention Teacher to deliver targeted support in Maths and English at Functional Skills level to secondary-aged pupils in Surrey.
This is a rewarding opportunity to join a specialist provision that supports young people with a range of needs including SEMH, ADHD, and ASC, who require tailored learning outside of mainstream education. You’ll be playing a key leadership role in creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver functional Maths and English lessons that are accessible and engaging.
* Provide 1:1 and small group intervention for students with SEN and SEMH needs.
* Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants to support individual learning needs.
* Create a safe and supportive environment to foster student confidence and academic development.
* Adapt lessons to suit varying needs, using innovative teaching strategies.
* Maintain consistent communication with pastoral staff and SENCO regarding progress.
Candidate Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
* Proven experience working in an SEN or SEMH setting is highly desirable.
* Ability to teach Functional Skills English and Maths.
* Strong knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies.
* Compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to teaching.
* Thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
